Towering limestone walls guard both sides of the entrance to Blackleaf Canyon recreational trail, and offer a growing number of single- and multi-pitch sport routes. The rock varies in color and quality, with dark chert bands interspersed in blue, white or tan stone. Many of the routes are new, so expect loose rock in places and wear your helmet.
The trailhead at the end of Blackleaf Canyon Road offers parking and a single vault pit toilet. There is plenty of undeveloped primitive camping in the area, with one spot immediately adjacent the parking and several more back the dirt road.
