Blowing Rocks Preserve has some of the only climeable rock in all of Florida. The rock is made from Anastasia limestone and ranges from razor-sharp Swiss cheese to water-polished slopers. The height of the climbs fluctuates from season to season, as the sea deposits and removes sand from the base of the rock. Depending on the tide, it’s possible for waves to wash up to the rock, and it’s a good idea to bring an older pair of climbing shoes.
The preserve is managed by the Nature Conservancy, and also offers hiking, swimming, snorkling, and diving. Parking is available near the education center, and there is a $2 day use fee.
